Antonio Plascencia, Jr.

Antonio Plascencia, Jr. has supported and led school turnaround initiatives at Chicago Public Schools and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). For the past six years at LAUSD, he has incubated an inquiry based approach for community-driven school turnaround that integrates parents as equal partners in conversations about school choice, adopting dashboards to monitor school turnaround plan improvements and facilitating dual-capacity professional development inclusive of the diverse perspectives present at the school site. Antonio is an alumni of the Education Pioneers Graduate Fellowship and holds a master's of public policy studies from the University of Chicago. He resides in Boyle Heights with his wife and 1-year-old son. Antonio places his Ignatian philosophy in all projects, particularly the belief of serving with and for others, from his years as an undergraduate at Loyola Marymount University.
