Chance met with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to discuss additional funding for CPS. "The talks were unsuccessful," said Chance. Chance's nonprofit Social Works Chicago will give another $10,000 to a local public school. Chicago Public Schools is depending on the state to help with a $215 million budget shortfall, while the annual budget for CPS is a whopping $5.7 billion. While Chance's $1 million may seem like a drop in the bucket, he says, "It's a call to action."
