Statement From Peter Cunningham On Effort to Repeal ESSA Regulations

Below is a statement from Education Post Executive Director Peter Cunningham on the possibility of a Congressional repeal of ESSA regulations:
In a blatant appeal to politics, some in Congress plan to rescind regulations written for the Every Student Succeeds Act, even though most state and local education leaders are not calling for the rules to be repealed. The result will be a delay in implementation, confusion over how the law works, less accountability and greater risk to children. Congress should honor the input of tens of thousands of people who submitted comments during the rule-making process and leave the regulations in place so that states and districts can move forward with the work of improving schools.
