Districts and Charters Help Kids When They Find Ways to Work Together

Mike Petrilli of The Fordham Institute has penned a piece for the Houston Chronicle about the value of districts and charters finding ways to collaborate and cooperate. He cites examples of cities like Boston and Cleveland where working together is making good things for kids happen and he calls on schools and school leaders in Houston to come out of their silos and do the same.
The relationship between urban school districts and charter schools is an important, often overlooked part of school choice. Cooperation begets better school environments. Antagonism ultimately harms students.
