D.C. Public School Extends School Year

Back when charter schools were merely a glimmer in Albert Shanker's eye, the hope was that innovative educational approaches developed in schools outside the traditional system would find their way back in. Now, the Raymond Education Campus in D.C. is taking a cue from charters and phasing up to a 200-day school year that will—over the life of a K-8 student—provide an entire extra year of learning.
